Donnie Houston was born in Houston, Texas and developed a love for music and entertainment at an early age. At the age of 15, he received his first set of vinyl turntables and started creating mixtapes with his neighborhood friends. After high school, Donnie continued to DJ and hone his craft as a student at Sam Houston State University. While attending SHSU, Donnie was introduced to music production and immediately started to learn how to create music.
After graduating with a BA in Broadcast Journalism, Donnie continued DJ, spinning multiple nights a week in Houston’s hottest nightclubs and lounges. His production work also picked up after graduation, working with Houston’s up and coming artists as well as legends such as Slim Thug & Paul Wall. When he’s not DJing or in the studio, Donnie is speaking to students at schools around Texas about the importance of having an education and following your dreams.
Donnie Houston has been nominated for multiple awards, including “Producer Of The Year” by The Houston Press, appeared on BET’s 106 & Park and is a member of the Recording Academy.
